Double glazing has come on in leaps and bounds from its introduction years ago. We all noticed the difference that double glazing made back then - no draughts, maintenance free frames and much quieter houses. These days with the lates generation of energy rated windows, the difference is quite amazing. So little heat is transmitted through the latest 'A' rated window units that it is quite common for condensation to form on the outside of the windows in the right conditions. This is a good sign....

When it comes to the foundations of your DIY conservatory, there is no point skimping on them. For a dwarf wall conservatory we recommend that the footings are at least 600mm deep. If you have a window and door installed by a Fensa registered company such as Prior Conservatories, at the completion of that installation, you will recieve a Fensa certificate and thus, if you wish to sell your house, your solicitor will be happy with the aforementioned certificate. ( You cannot sell without one ). Many people purchasing a conservatory or a front porch do not realize that as far as Fensa are concerned, these do not need or even can get a certificate. Although we do not supply conservatory blinds for the DIY conservatory market, many of our customers have fitted them after the self build is complete. Along with bespoke conservatory furniture, the conservatory blinds are particularly usefull if your conservatory or garden room is south facing, as from this direction the conservatory would be in full sunlight for most of the day.....
